Add an attractive turn-of-the-century coin to your collection with this genuine 1906 Indian Head cent from the Philadelphia Mint.
Designed by James Barton Longacre, the Indian Head cent was produced from 1859 through 1909. Despite its familiar name, the obverse depicts Liberty wearing a feathered headdress. The reverse features the denomination “ONE CENT” surrounded by an oak wreath and topped by a federal shield.
This example has a fully readable date, complete major lettering, visible feather details, a well-defined reverse wreath, and an intact shield. It displays moderate circulation wear and natural brown coloration consistent with its age.
The Philadelphia Mint did not place a mint mark on this issue. The absence of a mint mark is normal and does not represent an error.
