Aquarium Care
Gold Mystery Snails are peaceful and generally compatible with community fish, freshwater shrimp, and other nonaggressive aquarium inhabitants. Avoid housing them with known snail-eating fish or animals that may nip their antennae and bodies.
Mystery snails graze on biofilm, soft algae, and leftover food, but they should not be expected to survive only on material found in the aquarium. Provide a balanced diet that may include quality sinking foods, algae wafers, snail foods, and appropriate blanched vegetables.
A reliable calcium source and properly mineralized water are important for strong shell growth. Avoid sudden changes in temperature or water chemistry. Do not use copper-based aquarium medications unless the product is specifically labeled as safe for the invertebrates in your aquarium.
Natural Variation
Shell color, pattern, exact size, and growth lines will naturally vary between individual snails. Minor superficial shell blemishes may occur naturally and do not necessarily affect the snail’s health.

Acclimation
Float the unopened shipping bag or container to equalize temperature. Gradually introduce small amounts of aquarium water before transferring the snails.
