Offered here is a genuine 1954 Roosevelt dime, struck in 90% silver at the Philadelphia Mint.

Designed by John R. Sinnock, the obverse features President Franklin D. Roosevelt with the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the 1954 date. The reverse displays a central torch representing liberty, an olive branch symbolizing peace, and an oak branch representing strength and independence.

No mint mark is visible on the reverse, identifying this as a Philadelphia Mint issue. The small “JS” located near the base of Roosevelt’s neck represents designer John R. Sinnock’s initials. It is not a mint mark or minting error.

This coin has substantial damage around several portions of its rim and edge. It may also be slightly bent or distorted. It is offered primarily as an affordable historic silver coin rather than as a problem-free collectible example.
